This GeigerCounters.com web site is operated by Mineralab, LLC, a company in the business of manufacturing and selling various tools for mineral identification.  Its origin dates back to the 1960's when its original founder developed the prototypes for two of Mineralab's current product offerings, the Deluxe Mohs' Hardness Tester and the Mineral Hydrometer.

In modern times, Mineralab was re-established in 1995 by Tim and Jeannie Flanegin, who immediately commenced production of re-designed versions of the Hardness Tester and Hydrometer.  These products were followed by our proprietary software, Mineral Search, and our own Deluxe version of the Direct Reading Specific Gravity Balance developed by Dr. Hanneman.  More recently, we have developed and brought to market our Universal Specific Gravity Kits for Electronic Scales.

Along the way, we added to our line certain products by other manufacturers, including the Geiger counters featured on this web site.  Originally intended for customers interested in the prospecting and collection of radioactive minerals, our Geiger counter offerings now number up to 7 different models from 3 different US manufacturers, and are aimed at a variety of applications in industry and personal safety.  This unique dealership position has enabled us to select the best Geiger counter models from each manufacturer to give you a sufficient range in price and features of models from which to choose.
