This is a legacy Data Cable for use on computers still fitted with DB9 Serial ports. Few computers anymore (and almost no laptop computers) have a DB9 Serial Port. But the Serial Port does have one advantage - there is no requirement to install a Driver (software) to enable the computer to recognize the data cable. Just plug in the cable, your computer assigns a COM Port, and you are ready to go.
The opposite end of the cable is finished with a 3.5mm jack that is compatible with the Data/Audio ports of many Geiger counters in our selection.
